Welcome to Syllas. By accessing or using the Syllas AI study and chat application and related services ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Syllas provides an AI-powered study and chat experience, including but not limited to: conversational AI, study modes, quizzes, note organization, mistake review, and optional premium (Pro) features. We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service with reasonable notice where feasible.
You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of consent in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information when signing up.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or for other serious reasons.
Pro or other paid features may be offered via in-app subscriptions (e.g., through Apple App Store or Google Play). Payment terms, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are governed by the applicable store's policies and our subscription terms presented at purchase. We may change subscription pricing with advance notice.
The Service (including design, text, graphics, and software) is owned or licensed by us. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms. You retain ownership of content you create; you grant us the rights necessary to operate the Service (e.g., to store, process, and display your content and to use it to generate AI responses).
AI-generated content (e.g., answers, explanations, study tips) is for educational and informational support only. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or suitability for any particular purpose. Do not rely on AI output as the sole basis for academic or professional decisions. Always verify important information.
To provide AI-powered features, user-submitted content may be transmitted to third-party AI providers (such as OpenAI) after explicit user consent is provided in the app.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of information as described there.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE (AND OUR AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, AND SUPPLIERS) SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or any law.
We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated via the app or email where appropriate. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any right does not waive that right. These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States (and the State of California to the extent applicable), without regard to conflict of laws.
